Our US reseller Magnacad recently released a cool CAD design in their latest newsletter, trying to make the world just a little better looking. “…a septic tank vent pipe at my home. Its in front of the house and next to the front door of all places.” So what do you do when you have a 3D printer and CAD knowledge? You solve the problem!

CAD and 3D printing

This project is a great example of using CAD software together with 3D printing to create real products. Creating this design with traditional methods would be a real hassle for such a custom job. Now when the files have been created they can easily be altered, re-designed and distributed.

The two parts, pump housing and pump handle, are manufactured on the ZYYX+ 3D Printer with ZYYX proPLA. They were then glued together with the vent pipe. After sanding and cleaning the parts Tom at Magnacad added a nice cooper finish.
